The weirdest gachapon from Japan (that you can actually get in Europe)

Los gachapones más raros de Japón (que puedes conseguir en España)
Ilustración de la crónica

Cats and Pokemon get the fame, but the soul of Japanese gachapon lives elsewhere: in the series that make no sense whatsoever and are perfect precisely because of it. These are some of the weirdest that have passed through our machine (all real, all from Japanese makers).

1. A 1/10 scale sushi-making robot

Gachapon of the SUZUMO sushi robot at 1/10 scale

Yes: the machine that shapes the rice in sushi restaurants across half the world, reproduced in miniature under official SUZUMO licence. Levers, trays and serious industrial detail. Nobody needs it; everybody wants it.

2. Zen stones of time and space

Gachapon of zen stones stacked in balance

Rocks stacked in impossible balance with an aura of galactic meditation. It is literally a collectible stone, and it works. Japanese minimalism has no ceiling.

3. A pocket lie detector

Miniature lie detector gachapon

Decorative (nobody panic), but with the full aesthetic of the classic interrogation device. From the Yell house, specialists in objects that should not exist in kawaii form.

4. Screaming shells, poker-faced vegetables and other detectors of the absurd

The screaming shells, the Pokefasu vegetables with poker faces, the car indicators that actually blink... The list never ends: every month Japanese makers compete to release the most inexplicable series, in limited runs that never repeat.

Why does any of this exist?

Because gachapon in Japan is not (just) for kids: it is an adult collecting hobby where humour and absurdity trade high. The machines are on every corner and the weird series are the first to sell out. The golden rule: if it makes you laugh on the spot, it has already done its job.

You can see all our oddities, and the rest of the series, in the gachapon collection. Chance decides which one you get; we just provide the machine 🎰
